Day 11...

Rochelle is still in the hospital, and for now she wants to be there so they can manage the pain. They have put her on the pain patch so she can go home eventually but I guess it took a little time for the Patch to kick in. Ryan reported that Rochelle had a little sense of humor today not sure if it is from the pain meds. or just that they now have the pain under control and she is just feeling a little better.

My sister Chauntel(#3) is flying in from Dallas, TX tonight to stay at Rochelle's house and take care of her kids, laundry and cooking, etc. Chauntel did this a couple weeks ago and it was a real comfort to Rochelle to know everything was taken care of. I am so grateful and a little jealous that Chauntel is in a position to do this for Rochelle and her family.

Sisters...

Sorry you are only getting these updates from my view as a sister and even worse a sister who lives hundreds of miles from Rochelle. As my son says, "You get what you get and you don't throw a fit". These pictures are of Rochelle(#1), Me(#5), and Kendall(#4), and Ro and her daughter Kamden. These were taken in March at the monster truck show. Look how beautiful Rochelle is. Growing up Rochelle had long blond hair and I always thought she was the most beautiful person ever, I wanted to be just like her. I asked my mom to send me some more pictures, why? because I love pictures!

Rochelle is still in the hospital, I will let you know when things change. I loved this, my mom told me today that one of the nurses told her that when Ryan is with Rochelle and he comes to visit you can tell how in love they are. AWWWW!

I love reading all the notes and messages on here and Facebook it is very comforting to me to know so many people know and love Rochelle and are praying for her. Thank you!

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Hey everyone this is Bailey, Rochelle's little sister or as she has referred to me sister #5. I am updating on behalf of Rochelle, hopefully I can keep you all in the loop.

Rochelle had a two tumors removed from the back of her brain a couple weeks ago in Seattle, everything went well until they got home and she could not keep anything down. After a few days of not feeling so great she had another surgery and in terms we can all understand because I am not a doctor, she had permanent tubes put in both kidneys to drain them. She also has pancreasitis, once again not a doctor, but when I looked it up basically it is inflamed pancreas. She has not been able to eat much lately. When I spoke with her tonight she is on a high dose of pain meds. but she is in good spirits. Anyone who knows Rochelle knows she is the strongest and most amazing person. She is not going to let a little thing like surgery and doctors get her down. I am hearing that they are hoping to send her home in the next day or two.She has currently been in the hospital for 9 days, she is ready to be home.

If you have questions please contact her mother or sisters for more information. You can leave a message on her blog or Facebook. I will try to check it regularly. Please DO NOT contact Rochelle or her family at this time. If you want to leave well wishes or messages do it on here or Facebook. Thank you.

I am sure she would appreciate your prayers as well!

My shameless plug...Remember everyone October is Breast Cancer Awareness month ladies go and get checked, and men encourage your ladies to get checked.

2010 Last Update

Last post for the year

I thought it might be a good time to update. I have a little time. So we will see what I can update.

Cole started out the year in fifth grade at Ruth Livingston which is just down the road from us but he ended this year in 6th grade going out to Burbank with Dad as his teacher. He loves going to school out there. He played baseball this year. He did well and was able to play on the All Star B team again this year. He also played Football for the Bears again this year and was able to help grandpa with his 7th grade football time. Thank goodness he takes a break during basketball season. This year he did the cable bridge run again he run the 5K 24 mins some sec he came in second in his age group. Last year he run a min faster but he also did cross county last summer where he didn't this year. Cole learned how to ski this year and ride the wake board. He can cross the wake and has tried jumping the wake. We have put him on ADD meds. He can focus so much better. We went from me sitting next to him for three hours a day working on homework to him doing it by himself. Hay!! He also received the priesthood this year and is young men's. I can't believe he is twelve.

Kamden started the year in first grade with a wonderful teacher and has end the year in second grade with another awesome teacher. She has been so luckily with her teachers. She did tap and jazz for the last six year but end in June and we didn't not return this year. She has had a good year playing with the neighbors and help me out. She has been diagnosed with eye tracking problems. So she goes to eye therapy every Monday for 16 weeks and we do the therapy at home for four days. I hope it works. She is seeing double and having a hard time ready but still reading on level. So I hope with eye therapy she will just keep getting better. Kamden was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saint. We are so proud of her decision.

Carter started the year in his second year of preschool. Not liking to go not really learning anything. He is now in PM Kindergarten and approving so much from preschool. Carter was able to play his first sport he played t-ball it was so fun for him. He did lots of funny things that made it worth watching him. He is a kid that loves to play by himself. He is so good at that. Feeling a little bad for him he tells us all the time he doesn't have funs. So I guess that playing by himself isn't always good. He is our most loving kid. Oh and Carter now wear glasses and is probably going to do eye therapy.

Ryan had a slow year at work and was able to spend more time at home and helping me with the kids. We have enjoyed him being home more. He put in mom and dad's tile and hardwood floors this summer. He has been a primary teacher for the last few years. This year he was Cole's primary teacher. They released him last week. So we will see what the new year will bring. Oh and Ryan run over our puppy. She is fine but has a cast for 6 weeks.

I have been so blessed to have great doctors that have help me this year. Great parents and a husband who are great sounding boards. I am so thankful for all the blessing I have received this year. I have been really blessed to be able to attend the temple every other week since Carter has started Kindergarten. I have been serving in YW (miamaids advisor) for just over a year. We have had a fun year together this year. We were able to have a great spring break week doing lots of fun thing together. Then we had a great summer boating, baseball, family, extend family, Silverwood, camping, having Chauntel come visit Ya, Spokane and this fall Disneyland. Having grandma Bassett hear for Thanksgiving, and picking out a Christmas tree again. Having Bailey and Jillian here for Christmas vacation
Lots of family this year I love it. I hope you guys had a good year too.

Summer Fun 09

We have had lots of fun this summer. Cole played tournament baseball that ended in the end of July. We spent alot of weekends watching him play. We have been able to fit in a few other things...swiming home and waterparks, motorcycle riding, dance, Bassett Family reunion, boating (Cole learned how to ski), fun with friends at the park, movies, service projects, camping, school shopping, summer free movies with grandma and grandpa, doctor visits, doctor appointments, lots of MRI's and scans, treatment and work, we have even managed to clean the house every Monday. So the kids did do chores all summer.
